San Diego zoo: Panda ZhenZhen bring happiness to tourists

When Americans talk about panda watching, they may be thinking about San Diego rather than Sichuan. The famous San Diego zoo has a large family of pandas, and 5 month old ZhenZhen is fast becoming the most popular.

Born in August, the Panda cub ZhenZhen has become very popular since her first public appearance prior to New Year.

The trainer says she loves watching ZhenZhen eating bamboo.

The family contains five members father GaoGao, mother BaiYun, brother MeiShen, older sister SuLin and younger sister ZhenZhen. Although brother MeiShen was sent back to China two months ago, it is still the largest panda family in America.

BaiYun has given birth to four cubs at the San Diego zoo since 1999. Two of them have been sent back to China. This has become the symbol of a bridge to connecting China and the US.

Father GaoGao moved to the US in 2003. During the past five years, he has fathered three pandas with BaiYun.

The panda family not only brings happiness to the tourists, but also increased awareness of the need to protect endangered animals.
