BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- He Guoqiang, who heads the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), called on enhanced self-discipline among the inspectors here on Thursday.
"Discipline inspectors and supervision officials must be strict with themselves and their relatives ... as well as their fellow colleagues" to guard against malpractice including corruption, He said at the beginning of a symposium for the CCDI members.
He, also member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, said the anti-corruption work must be improved to cope with new situations and solve new problems.
To guarantee the implementation of major policy decisions and strategic arrangements made at the CPC's 17th national congress, all discipline inspectors must step up efforts to enhance their capacity to fight corruption and uphold integrity, He said.
He urged discipline inspection departments to intensify investigation and research.
While resolutely fighting corruption, commissions for discipline inspection at all levels must work harder to remove its root cause, take preventive measures, and innovate relevant systems, He stressed.
The three-day symposium was held to help the CCDI members to develop a clear understanding of the CPC's policies outlined at its 17th National Congress last October.
