The Pentagon says the video was taped by a crew member on the bridge of the destroyer USS Hopper on Sunday. It is unedited and lasts more than half an hour.

The video shows crew members monitoring the five Iranian boats.

For much of the time it follows one or more of the fast boats moving around the US ships.

As the incident escalates, sailors can be heard growing more agitated about how fast and close the small boats were moving near the ships.

Earlier in the week, US officials released a shorter audio recording.

It said it's not clear whether the verbal threats heard in that recording came from the Iranian boats.

In the recording, a man with an accent can be heard warning in English "I am coming to you" and "You will explode...".
