The pink ballot with 16 names represents almost 40 thousand people from Taiwan living on the Chinese Mainland. 100 and twenty election committee members voted at a meeting.

The 13 deputies to the 11th Nation People's Congress include three women. They were born on the mainland and are second generation of Taiwan compatriots. They are either Party or government officials, or scholars making remarkable contributions to science and technology, education and medicine, or representatives of the economic sector, from both eastern and central-western China.

Chen Jun is the only one with Gaoshan nationality. She is excited but also realizes the responsibility.

Chen Jun, Taiwan deputy, said, "On one hand, we represent the profit of Taiwan people living in mainland, and also represent voice of Taiwan residents. We will help them know more about our motherland and devote all efforts in reunification process."

Vice chairman and secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee Sheng Huaren congratulated the newly elected deputies.
