This is a chance for the public to be in close contact with the Chinese Premier and the British Prime Minister.
Premier Wen called it a lively event.
Premier Wen said, "I think communication is an exchange of ideas. What they bring is not only friendship, but also the elevation of minds. "
Gordon Brown said, "The proposition I want to put to the audience of students and members of community is that there's nothing we cannot do if we cooperate together."
Five audience members had the chance to raise questions.
A British scholar asked whether China's rise is a threat?
Premier Wen responded by saying the so-called China's threat has emerged because of lack of proper understanding about China.
Premier Wen said, "The thing that Chinese leaders and people keep in mind is that we need time to concentrate efforts on developing ourselves. Just look at what Chinese leaders think, speak and do every day.
You'll understand there is no possibility that China will be a threat to others, nor is there any necessity. We've already been very busy with our own business."
