Speaking at church services, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton invoked the memory of famed civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior.

Obama took to the pulpit at King's Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he called for unity to overcome the country's problems.

Former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton picked up a Harlem church leader's endorsement.

Speaking at the Abyssinian Baptist Church, Hillary recalled how she had travelled years ago with her church youth group to hear Martin Luther King Junior speak.
