Popular California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has endorsed Republican candidate John McCain giving him a key boost in a state crucial to his drive in gaining a presidential nomination.

California is a large prize among the 24 states that will hold nominating contests next Tuesday also known as "Super Tuesday".

It offers nearly 15 percent of the total delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, California Governor, said, "Now speaking about the future this is the very reason why I am endorsing Senator McCain to be the next president of the United States. Because I am interested in a great future and I think Senator McCain has proven over and over again that he is reaching across the aisle in order to get things done. There are people out there who talk about reaching across the aisle but he has shown the action over and over again."
