Rice in Kenya for talks

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has met with Kenya's fueding parties and has urged the country's rival politicians to share power to end the country's bloody political crisis.

Kenya has been torn by violence since December 27th presidential vote.

Rice began her visit to Kenya with a meeting in Nairobi with former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who has been mediating peace talks. She said a deal would enhance the country's relationship with America.

In a joint news conference with Annan, Rice said a governance arrangement that would allow for a coalition government must be implemented.

Annan said the process has the full support of the EU, the US, the African Union and the United Nations.
