On Thursday, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband made this correction from earlier government denials of such US rendition flights.

Miliband told parliament in two cases a US plane with a single detainee on board refueled at the US facility in Diego Garcia.

The government had previously insisted it was not aware of any British territory being used to transfer terrorism suspects outside normal extradition procedures.

Miliband said his correction is based on new information passed to Britain by the US government last week.
