Putin says he is seeing a tendency towards better relations with Georgia. He pointed to the successful return of normal air service between Russia and Georgia.

Saakashvili has confirmed his willingness to restore and boost ties with Russia.

The Georgian president traveled to Moscow for the first time since winning re-election in a snap election last month.

He will also take part in the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which is scheduled to be held on Friday.
