CPPCC holds meeting to discuss preparations for upcoming session

Special Report: 2008 NPC & CPPCC sessionsBEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) --The presidium of the 10th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a meeting here on Thursday to discuss preparations for the upcoming First Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, which is scheduled to open on March 3.
The meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau.
The meeting examined and approved a list of candidates for the presidium of the First Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee and a draft agenda for the Session.
The draft documents will be decided during the preparatory meeting and the fist presidium meeting of the First Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.
Jia was recommended to do a work report during the First Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.
The participants heard a report on the preparatory work for the First Plenary Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, by Secretary-General Zheng Wantong.
During the meeting, Jia thanked all the participants for their hard work in the past five years.
Present at the meeting were vice chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Zhongyu, Liao Hui, Liu Yandong, Li Guixian, Zhang Siqing, Bai Lichen, Luo Haocai, Zhang Kehui, Zhou Tienong, Hao Jianxiu, Chen Kuiyuan, Abulaiti Abudurexiti, Xu Kuangdi, Li Zhaozhuo, Huang Mengfu, Zhang Huaixi, Li Meng, Zhang Meiying and Zhang Rongming.
