A local Aba official says monks and civilians who were tricked into participating in the riots and later turned themselves in have been released.
This is what happened in Aba, a city of more than 64,000 people. Almost 90 percent of the population is Tibetan.
The city was badly damaged in the March 16th riots.
Official figures show many civilians were wounded, while around 200 government workers and police were also injured.
24 shops were burnt down, and 81 vehicles set on fire.
Economic losses from the smashing, looting and arson amount to more than 10 years of the county's income.

A local official says the drama was staged in the same way as that in Lhasa.
