Hu Jintao meets Tongan, Sri Lankan leaders

This is Tongan King George Tupou V's first visit to China.
President Hu Jintao says relations have undergone fast and sound development since China established diplomatic ties with Tonga ten years ago.
There have been increasing exchanges in politics, economy, agriculture and education. Hu Jintao says China and Tonga have also cooperated well in regional and world affairs.
Speaking about the relationship between the two, Hu Jintao notes that China and Tonga are both developing countries seeking their own paths forward.
King George Tupou V expressed solid support for China's handling of the recent Lhasa riots. He says it is China's internal affair and foreign intervention is unacceptable.
The two sides have agreed to deepen relations.
On Thursday afternoon, President Hu Jintao also met with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Hu Jintao is pleased that many of the consensus and agreements reached by the two leaders one year ago have been implemented well.
Hu Jintao says China hopes cooperation to continue for the benefit of the two countries. He also wished for Sri Lanka to realize stability and prosperity soon.
President Rajapaksa appreciated China's support on Sri Lanka's social and economic development. He reiterated Sri Lanka's adherence to the One China policy and the Chinese government's position on the Tibet issue.
Rajapaksa also expressed wishes for a successful Olympic Games in Beijing this August.
