On Wednesday afternoon, it received a warm welcome at the Hong Kong airport.

The flame later went on display at the Hong Kong Cultural Center. A torch sculpture was unveiled at Victoria Harbor as a permanent monument to the Games.

Mainland students at ten universities in Hong Kong are ready for the big day. They've collected money to buy flags. They've also designed their own T-shirts, which over a thousand students will wear along the relay route.

Yang Ke, student of HK Baptist University said "Our theme is to bless the Olympics, and cheer for China."

Students and professors are also showing their support by signing this 20-meter-long banner, one of ten which will be joined together.

The relay starts on Friday at the Cultural Center at Tsim Sha Tsui. 120 torchbearers will be in the running. The relay is expected to last six to eight hours. The torch will pass landmarks such as the Tsing Ma Bridge and the Shatin racecourse before it arrives at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wanchai.
