This scroll painting is a replica of "Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival". It's made of fish bones. The painstaking effort was undertaken by Liu Huirong. Liu fashioned fish refuse into a treasure. The unusual material gave the picture a three-dimensional effect, compared to the original ink painting. Liu says finding a perfect piece is very time consuming.

Liu Huirong, folk artist, said, "Finding the right piece of fish bone is difficult. One day I took great pains to find just the right one. Carelessly I dropped into the pile of fish bone. I actually cried."

Fish bones need to be processed and categorized. It took Liu eight years to finish her fish bone masterpiece. The delicate detail inspires viewers to marvel at the dexterity and patience of the creator. And now Liu's fish bone mastery has added new appeal to the famous ancient painting.
