Giant pandas in Wolong base confirmed safe after earthquake

BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 86 giant pandas at the Wolong center in southwest China's Sichuan Province were all safe after Monday's powerful earthquake, the State Forestry Administration confirmed on Tuesday.

All the baby pandas have been transported to safe places, it said.
