Heavy rain has recently swept through southern and southwestern China, triggering floods across different regions.

In southwestern province of Guizhou, nearly 20 cities and counties have been affected by the flooding. Among some heavily-hit counties, traffic, communications and electricity have been badly damaged.

Emergency repair is now under way.

In south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Liujiang River saw this year's first flood peak late on Saturday. About 40 reservoirs are in the process of discharging the floods. All sluice gates at Honghua hydropower station are now reopened.
