Villages downstream from the Tangjiashan barrier lake are doing everything they can to prevent any outbreaks of disease. Relocated residents have moved into temporary shelters to avoid any further disasters.

Each day they spray disinfectant throughout the town. No corner is left untouched. Their work will carry on for another month.

A month after the earthquake, the town of Chenjiaba in Beichuan County is deserted. Only ruins and rubble are left.

The only activity here is carried out by a group of soldiers. Their work to disinfect the town and prevent the spread of diseases has been continuous.

Each day they spray disinfectant throughout the town. No corner is left untouched. Their work will carry on for another month.

Residents have all been relocated to open farmland to avoid aftershocks and mudslides. Many of them have lost all they ever had.

Residents are now living in temporary shelters, and more temporary houses are under construction to provide more space.

Residents hope this will help their lives return to normal as soon as possible.
