China's Ministry of Education and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission say six universities for nationalities will accept more ethnic students from the quake-hit provinces of Sichuan and Gansu. This is in addition to the current plans to increase enrollment of students from affected areas.

80 more ethnic students from the disaster areas will be admitted for preparatory study at the six universities. Those students will be given what's called a "green channel" during the recruitment procedure.
Those who lost their parents or have financial problems will have lower tuition rates or the fees may be completely waived. They are also eligible for accommodation assistance and other financial support.
