More than 70,000 students are attending temporary schools in Dujiangyan City. 45 temporary schools have been built in the city since the earthquake, at a cost of 110 million yuan -- or 16 million US dollars. The construction was financed with donations from east China's Anhui province, which is also providing school supplies.
The temporary schools are able to accommodate all of Dujiangyan's students, including senior high school students preparing for the national college entrance exam. Volunteer teachers in Sichuan and Gansu provinces are helping thousands of students get ready for the postponed exam.
Universities across China are also waiting for these students. They've been instructed to carry out preferential policies for students from quake-stricken regions.
