Quake zone students return to school

All 3.4 million students in the May 12 quake zone in Sichuan Province are returning to school on Monday.

About a third of the students will resume classes in their former schools unaffected in the earthquake.

About a third of the students will resume classes in their former schools unaffected in the earthquake. Another third will attend classes in building that have been reinforced. The rest will study in prefabricated classrooms, or seek schooling in other towns within and outside Sichuan Province.

Local governments are providing living allowances to students with financial difficulties.
