Even the designers of the rocket had never seen such pictures before. Liu Zhusheng, FMR Chief Designer of Launch Systems, said, "The second stage of the rocket works in a vacuum condition, which makes the shape and spreading of the flame different to that on the ground. So we set the camera to see what happened."
The three cameras installed in the Shenzhou-7's rocket made it possible to receive clear pictures of the rocket's launch. Liu Yu, Chief Designer of Launch Systems, said, "It was good. We hope an infrared camera can be installed in the future, which can be used to show not only the working conditions of the engine, but also the environmental conditions."
