Displaced people at a camp in the Democratic Republic of Congo are pleading for international help.

Tens of thousands of families are struggling to feed their families following recent fighting between the rebels and government forces.

At a camp for near Goma, starving children can be heard crying as their parents do what they can with the meagre rations on offer.

One man said his children are suffering adding that, without help, he simply doesn't know what he can do to help.

Elsewhere, others displaced by the violence, continued to set out on foot in attempts to return to their war ravaged homes taking advantage of a US and UN backed ceasefire.

They are returning with hopes of finding food and shelter during the ceasefire.
