The US presidential election is being closely followed by many around the world.

It's produced varying responses in Israel and the Palestinian territories and from American voters living there.

A survey of Americans in Israel found that absentee voters support Republican presidential candidate John McCain over his rival, Barack Obama, by a three-to-one margin.

An estimated 40-thousand Americans living in Israel are expected to vote.

Raan Gissin, Former Advisor to Israeli PM, said, "Whoever's going to be the American President, he is committed to Israel security, to Israel needs and that strategic partnership, I believe, will continue whoever is elected President."

The election has not drawn much enthusiasm from Palestinian-Americans, many of whom see US policy as biased towards Israel.
