Bush congratulates Obama on election victory

WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. president George W. Bush called Barack Obama Tuesday night, congratulating him on being elected as the first African-American U.S. president in history, the White House said.

Obama will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009 in Washington D.C.
