Red Cross offers aid to DR Congo

The International Committee of the Red Cross has continued to distribute food to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The recent aid was supplied to some 50-thousand residents in the Kibati camp who are short on food rations.

ICRC officials say they will start distributing blankets, soap and other essential items on Wednesday. They say people in the Kibati camp are short of everything.

The fighting in eastern Congo is believed to be fueled by ethnic hatred still lingering from the nineties.
