4th Cross-Strait Economic, Trade and Cultural Forum wraps up in Shanghai

The Fourth Cross-Strait Economic, Trade and Cultural Forum came to a close in Shanghai on Sunday afternoon. During the two-day event agreements were reached on enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Kuomintang Vice Chairman, Tseng Yung-chuan, hailed the forum as another significant step forward in the development of cross-strait relations.

Tseng Yung-chuan said, "The forum has seen deep discussions on expanding cross-strait economic and trade cooperation. Participants to the forum agreed that the peaceful development of the cross-strait relations has made enormous achievements since May this year by seizing historic opportunities . A wide range of policies and measures that benefit people across the strait have been implemented."
