Direct Dalian-Taipei flights kick off

Direct flights between the mainland's northeast city of Dalian...and Taipei... officially kicked off on Saturday. Dalian is the first city in Northeast China to be linked with a direct air route to Taiwan.

The mainland's Hainan Airlines is in charge of one of the flights..with a return trip scheduled every Saturday. TransAsia Airways is in charge of the same flight route from the Taiwan region, with one return trip every Sunday.

The immigration department has set up special lanes for the direct flights. Dalian has about 12 hundred Taiwan enterprises, accounting for almost half of those from Taiwan enterprises operating in Liaoning Province.
