Well before the panda pair arrives in Taiwan, the island has been gripped by panda fever. And that's opened opportunities for local merchandise.

Panda fever also brings unexpected popularity to a famous  local brand of porcelain.

Do you want to take a cuddly panda bear home? Or dress up like one? Unfortunately this panda-shaped hat isn't for sale.

Shopkeeper Chen Shu-Kai, said, "Lots of people stop by the window and stare. Many of them come in and ask about the price. But they are not for sale now, they are just for window display."
