EU diplomats meet on Gaza conflicts

Special Report: Israel airstrikes in GazaA delegation of top diplomats from the European Union has gathered in Egypt for talks on the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.
The delegation is currently on a tour of the Mideast to promote a ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave.

The EU team is led by Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, whose country holds the current rotating presidency.
The bloc is keen on exerting efforts to reach a ceasefire and help relieve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The EU has pledged three million euros in emergency aid to Gaza. Also on Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak met with the Mideast Quartet's special envoy to the region, Tony Blair, to discuss the ongoing clashes.
