Israeli troops fired on in Golan Heights

The Israeli army says troops in the Golan Heights came under small arms fire from Syria on Sunday.

No one was wounded and the Israeli army has complained to the UN monitoring force in the area.

The circumstances of the incident is still being investigated. Syria and the UN monitors on the Golan Heights have not commented.

Israel captured the plateau from Syria in 1967 and later annexed it, though has not been recognized internationally.

Three rockets fired from Lebanon hit northern Israel on Friday. Israeli and Lebanese officials call it an isolated incident.
