DPRK FM meets visiting senior Chinese diplomat

Pak Ui Chun, foreign minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met with visiting Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue here on Monday.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral ties and pledged efforts to ensure the smooth running of a series of events this year celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Year of China-DPRK Friendship.

They hoped that these celebratory events would help further promote mutual understanding, boosting friendship, expand exchanges and deepening cooperation.

Hu arrived in the DPRK on Friday and was to leave on Monday. He also held talks with the DPRK's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Yong Il.
