Premier Wen: Strong Sino-US ties bring benefits to both sides

Visiting former US President Jimmy Carter, former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, and former National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, have been received by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Beijing.

Visiting former US President Jimmy Carter, former US  Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, and former National  Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, have been received  by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in Beijing.

Tuesday's meetings are arranged to mark the three decades of China US diplomatic relations.

Wen Jiabao said the strong ties built up over the past thirty years have brought a wide range of benefits to both sides. The premier said that at this crucial financial time, China and the US should deal with two way relations from a strategic and overall perspective.

Mr. Carter says the US highly appreciates China's important role on the world stage and that the US will continue to promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.
