Ban urges Israel to make decision on ceasefire

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has met Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem. During Thursday's meeting, the UN Chief said he expected Israel to make an important decision on whether to implement a ceasefire in Gaza soon.

Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary General, said, "I understand, today, the Israeli government will make an important decision on ceasefire. I hope that decision will be the right one. Through it, I hope that Israel will show to the world that it is a responsible member of the United Nations abiding by the Security Council resolution."
