Top DPRK leader inspects factories

The state media of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is reporting that top leader, Kim Jong Il, has inspected two factories in the capital of Pyongyang.

Kim visited the Pyongyang Silk Mill and the newly built Pyongyang Gum Factory. But the media did not specify the date of the tour.

During his visit, Kim urged more efforts to expand the country's textile industry -- according to modern and scientific production techniques.

Official sources are also reporting that Kim has made several public inspection tours of factories and plants in January.
