Pakistan's Interior Ministry chief, Rehman Malik, says investigators are looking at information handed over by India as well as leads gathered independently. Provincial and central government-level investigations are also ongoing.

Rehman Malik, Head of Pakistan Interior Ministry, said, "I want to be clear of one thing, Pakistan's interest is supreme, we will not take dictation or facts from anyone. I promise to the nation that the investigation will be transparent, publicly available and nothing will be hidden."

Malik says he hopes to fast-track the investigation and build a case quickly.

Rehman Malik, Head of Pakistan Interior Ministry, said, "That's why I've asked them to investigate, to inquire into it within ten days. Let them bring the preliminary inquiry. If they want more time for the inquiry, I will give them more time. That is the preliminary report which I have asked for ten days."

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Sign has asked Pakistan to come out with a "full and complete" disclosure of its investigation without "denial, diversion or obfuscation".

Islamabad is under pressure to clamp down on Lashkar-e-Taiba, the banned Pakistan-based militant group that India blames for the Mumbai attacks.

Pakistan's Interior Ministry has reported that it has arrested 71 people linked to the group and that another 124 people are under surveillance.
