As China prepares for the Lunar New Year, residents in areas hit by the Wenchuan earthquake are also busy getting ready for the festivities.

To mark the occasion, lanterns have been hung in makeshift houses in Beichuan county in Sichuan Province. Local residents are crowding into the temporary market to purchase fruit, vegetable and gifts for Spring Festival. People there are gradually resuming lives and livelihoods after living in temporary shelters for months.
Even though these people don't have enough money to prepare a lavish feast, they're satisfied to gather around the table with family members. They're hoping to save money and build their new houses as soon as possible.
