Chinese President Hu Jintao sends letter to DPRK leader Kim Jong-il

Chinese President Hu Jintao has sent New Year wishes to the Worker's Party of Korea and to the government and people of the DPRK. He says that China-DPRK friendship and cooperative relations have become stronger than ever.

Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met with Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, in Pyongyang on Friday.

CPC Central Committee International Department head, Wang Jiarui, delivered the letter to top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-il.

The Chinese president noted in the letter that China has always treasured its relations with the DPRK, and is ready to work together to broaden and deepen bilateral cooperation and exchanges in various fields.

Hu Jintao also invited Kim to visit China again in the future. Kim gladly accepted the invitation, saying his country will continue to value its strong ties with China.
