The pandas given by the Chinese mainland remain a sensation with the public in Taiwan. During the past lunar new year holiday, nearly 180,000 people lined up to see them. And Panda souvenirs proved to be very popular.

Since their debut on the first day of lunar new year, more  than 22,000 people each day have visited Tuantuan and yuanyuan.

Their fans in Taiwan call them cute, cuddly and adorable.

Lack of sleep and long lines in early morning did not deter local panda lovers.

A visitor said, "I came here to queue at five in the morning and yes I was Number 1 in the line."

"They are good-looking and cute. They are really big but very cuddly." said a visitor.
