Last year's Tibetan New Year was marred by serious mob rioting just two weeks earlier. Almost a year has now passed and a group of domestic and international journalists are visiting the autonomous region to find out how celebrations are going this year.

This is a daily religious ritual for Tibetan worshippers.
They're prostrating themselves in front of Jokhang Temple, the holiest site in Lhasa. A temple official says religious events have remained normal, and now they're getting ready to receive worshippers for the Tibetan new year.
Non Gyal, a monk from the Johkang Temple, was one of 30 Tibetan monks who disrupted a media group after the March 14th riot last year. Almost a year on, he says his life is back to normal.
Non Gyal said, "I was neither taken into custody nor punished. My life and religious study have been normal. "
Living a normal life includes enjoying the coming week-long new year holiday.
