Special Report: Israel airstrikes in GazaAMMAN, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Sunday received two aid cargos for Gazans from Chile and Pakistan, which will soon be channeled to the enclave Gaza Strip, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) said.
Among the relief supplies, 25 tons come from Chile and 10 tons from Pakistan, according to the Chilean Ambassador to Jordan Luis Palma and the Pakistani Ambassador to Jordan Mohammad Akhtar Tufail.
Earlier in the day, the JHCO has sent a 20-truck convoy laden with 243 tons of food supplies, blankets and mattresses to Gaza byway of the King Hussein Bridge.
Soon after Israel launched a military offensive against Gaza late last year, the JHCO, under the order of King Abdullah II, has started a daily aid transfer to the enclave.
So far, about 277 aid convoys have been sent to help ease the suffering of the Palestinians in the coastal enclave, according to the charity group.
Jordan also serves as a bridge to channel humanitarian aid to Gazans from outside world.
