President Hu visits Tanzania

Chinese President Hu Jintao continued his African tour in Tanzania on Sunday. He held talks with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete on boosting the traditional friendship between the two countries.

This is President Hu Jintao's first state visit to Tanzania. He was welcomed at a ceremony held by President Kikwete.
During their talks, the two leaders reviewed the smooth development of Sino-Tanzanian relations and agreed to advance bilateral ties.
Hu Jintao called for an early implementation of the agreed cooperation programs. He also pledged the full implementation of the preferential measures announced at a China-Africa summit in Beijing in 2006.
Kikwete says his country appreciates the assistance and support offered by China for a long time.
He says Tanzania will work with China to cement cooperation in trade, agriculture, education and many other fields.
And Kikwete reaffirms that Tanzania will always stick to the one-China policy.
