Chinese vice president Xi Jinping visits Venezuela

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping arrived in Caracas for an official visit to Venezuela on Tuesday. He highlighted the strengthening of friendly and reciprocal cooperation with Venezuela.

While addressing the opening ceremony of a seminar attended by entrepreneurs from both China and Venezuela, Xi said both sides should strengthen the all-round cooperation to pursue common development.

In a written speech issued upon his arrival, Xi said that he came to strengthen friendship, amplify consensus, deepen cooperation and to promote development. He said that with his visit the China-Venezuela strategic partnership for common development is expected to obtain further advance. Venezuela is the fourth leg of Xi's six-nation tour which has taken him to Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia. He will also visit Brazil and Malta.
