ISLAMABAD, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A supply tanker for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces in Afghanistan was attacked in northwestern Pakistan, local television reported on Saturday.

The reports gave no further details about the attack.

This is the latest attack on NATO supply route in Pakistan, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Some 75 percent of supplies for U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan currently travel through Pakistan, but the supply line has been under increasing attacks in the past months.

The U.S. and NATO are seeking new supply route for their forces fighting in Afghanistan, particularly after Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev signed a law Friday to close the Manas air base used by the U.S. military.
