Tibetans greet New Year in new homes

The Tibet Autonomous Region has been carrying out settlement plans in recent years. More than 310,000 farmers and herdsmen will greet their New Year in their new homes.

Zhuoga, villager of Mozhugongka County, Lhasa, said, "We'll dance together happily at the Tibetan New Year. All the villagers are happy. I desire nothing more as long as I stay healthy."

On the Tibetan New Year's Eve, 24 extremely poor families in the Gongka village of Mozhugongka county got the keys to their new homes.

Besides new homes, each family got furniture worth more than 8,000 yuan.

And in the Chenguan District of Lhasa, all the Tibetans who have recently moved to new houses are also preparing for the New Year.
