Palestinian factions hold reconciliation talks

To Egypt now where rival Palestinian groups Hamas and Fatah have begun reconciliation talks in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

The talks are aimed at coming up with a power-sharing agreement as well as seeking consensus on eventually holding elections in the Palestinian territories.

Both sides see overcoming the deep distrust between them as a key to moving ahead with reconstruction in Gaza.

Especially after Israel's recent devastating military offensive on the strip. Egypt is mediating the talks -- which are expected to last at least 10 days.
