World media hail China´s work to improve people´s livelihood

BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- World media following the two ongoing political conferences in Beijing are speaking highly of the work the Chinese government has done to improve the livelihoods of its people.

The two conferences are the Second Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) and the Second Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The U.S. Qiaobao in Chinese said China has practiced thrift in handling all affairs of the NPC and the CPPCC, which shows determination and confidence of its government and people to battle the ravaging economic crisis.

Quoting Premier Wen Jiabao, the paper said China must channel government investment to areas where it best counteracts the effects of the global financial crisis and to weak areas in economic and social development in a bid to make every penny count, adding that the statement reflects the interest of the Chinese people.
