UN accuses Iran of violating sanctions

A key UN Security Council committee says Iran violated UN sanction by attempting to send arms-related material reportedly to Syria.

A UN member state, identified as Cyprus, sent a letter to the committee in early February, disclosing that the cargo ship docked in its country in late January, and that the vessel is still there.

But there has been no decision as yet about what to do with the cargo.
