Chinese FM comments on G20 meeting

Chinese Finance Minister Xie Xuren says the G-20 meeting has sent a positive signal to the world. He says the meeting called on the global community to make common efforts to deal with the current financial crisis. Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting on Saturday, Xie Xuren said the gathering has been helpful in promoting trade and financial stability. He also outlined China's stance on dealing with the global economic downturn.

Xie Xuren, Chinese Finance Minister, says, "China is calling on the international community to strengthen coordination of macro-economic policies and adopt effective and responsible macro-economic policies. China also wants the G-20 to send clearer signal against trade and investment protectionism."
