Syrian FM holds talks with Iraqi officials in Baghdad

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem has arrived in Baghdad where he has held talks with Iraqi officials. Al-Mouallem was welcomed at the airport by his counterpart Hoshyar Zebari, and later met with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Iraqi government sources said Moualem would convey a letter from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about his country's willingness to develop relations with Iraq and preparation for the Doha Arab summit slated late this month.
